A beggar team(2006)
Five ugly looser who was temporary very famous in Korea long time ago, try to make their comeback of golden age.
Most of characters came from Korea old animation. When I was in Korea, North Korea and south Korea was very high tension. South Korea made a couple of animation for teaching Yong children to against North Korea.In these film, main character fought with red (communism) bad devils. In my memories, they was such great and cool things. But after 20 years when our country becomes richer and stronger than North Korea especially average education of people becomes high, South Korea stopped a malicious propaganda about North Korea. most of my generation remember those characters but nobody wants to see again, because it goes against the stream of the times. I thought that these characters are poorest character in world. Even my generation want to see them, it becomes impossible.
I am not kind of person who love cold war period. I just wanted to make character, story, view of serious change. Because animation is anyway memories of people.
A beggar team, base on 2D animation tool, and for me it was first time to make my own film.It was pretty issue in Korea in animation mania. But I couldn't make every series cusses of money.
I learn really a lot of things in this project. Timing, camera move, layout.
I made the story with my friend, animation character design everything i done by my self.
